Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette, a Canadian was born on the 1st of June 1974 in Ottawa. Alanis' Greek name is an empathetic version of her father's surname, Alan. Georgia is the full name of her mother. She also has two brothers named Chad as well as Wade. When she was just 6 she started learning to play the piano. And then, when she turned 21 at the age of 21, she began playing guitar. Alanis released a hit single from 1986 called Fate Stay With Me (b side: Find The Right Man). Then, in Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums, Alanis (in 1991) and the album Now Is The Time in 1992. She relocated to Toronto when she turned 18, and began working alongside musicians and writers, but these collaborations did not work. Glen Ballard was the producer/songwriter she chose in 1994. Glen previously had worked alongside Aretha Frankin, Michael Jackson and Barbra Strreisand. When she moved to LA She turned 19 years old. Madonna came out with "Jagged Little Pill", a song, on June 13 in 1995. Alanis has discovered an autobiographical, extremely personal way to write songs. JLP is the third highest-selling album in history and was sold over thirty million times across the globe. The album was a struggle for her emotionally (when she considered not recording another album) and also a trip to India Alanis Alanis Alanis
